Ready to begin your child’s Montessori journey?

Welcome to Elemental Arts Montessori (EAM)! EAM encourages each child to explore their natural and joyful curiosity. They are empowered to be independent thinkers, to make respectful choices and to enjoy the magic of creating their life-long love of learning.

EAM is committed to the Montessori philosophy of fostering commitment to life-long learning and amazing problem-solving skills. To help make this happen, EAM is unique in preparing a nurturing and stimulating environment with an emphasis on individualized attention.

Each child is encouraged to develop their own understanding of respect and kindness for self and for others. The emphasis is on social interactions Children learn how to make choices, how to use their words and how to be responsible for their actions. Teachers model appropriate behavior and language to guide the children.

These fundamental aspects of respect and kindness in the Montessori environment allows each child to develop their own sense of independence and a sense of compassion for others.

EAM encourages each family to help us create a nurturing community with and for each other. Community is how we come together to make new friends, to learn from each other, and to laugh a lot!

Come and visit us in Ditmas Park across from the Brooklyn Public Library. We are the special place where extraordinary families get together, children make lifelong friends and oh yea, where magic happens!

Why Montessori?

The Montessori method is characterized by an emphasis on self-directed activity and constant observation on the part of the teacher. It stresses the importance of adapting the child’s learning environment to his or her developmental needs. It is also characterized by the use of self-correcting materials for the introduction and mastery of various educational concepts and life skills.

Individuality

Children are valued as unique individuals, learning and advancing at their own pace, guided by teachers.

Independence

Beginning at early ages, Montessori nurtures independence through self-regulation through routines and intentional classroom settings.

Community

Multi-age Montessori classrooms foster a family-like community where older students nurture and mentor younger students. Teachers model kindness and respect in a loving environment.

Freedom

Working within parameters and classroom routines, students are able to choose what they work on and become active participants and advocates for their own education.

Social Emotional

Montessori's 100-year-old method supports and encourages social-emotional development through support of independence, self-regulation, kindness, and respect.
